Industrias Guerra has initiated the final phase of the DIGI4MARINE project, PP08, within the Naval PERTE program, that aims to create a robotic, intelligent, and connected marine crane. After completing the design and implementation of innovations, the company has begun its assembly, integrating the new solutions into one of its cranes to proceed soon to the validation phase.
In this phase, an exhaustive analysis of the requirements and characteristics of the robotization system has been carried out, as well as the design and development of the technological solutions to be integrated. The final result will be a solution that can be added to any of the brand’s cranes, significantly improving their functionality, efficiency, and safety. This advancement also represents a technological leap for Industrias Guerra’s cranes, consolidating their reputation in the sector.
The new technological developments include a crane instrumentation hardware that allows monitoring the movements of the different crane subassemblies (base and arm rotation, extension of booms, and movements in the rotor and grapple). A telemetry system has also been implemented, enabling connectivity, data visualization, remote maintenance, and software updates. The crane’s kinematics have been defined to calculate the movements of the different degrees of freedom of the crane, allowing the TCP coordinate values to be obtained through a control. Regarding control integration, it allows reading sensors and executing precise movements of the arms and the head, all coordinated with a single control.
In the following phases, Industrias Guerra will continue collaborating with the Universidade de Vigo (UVigo) and the AIMEN Technology Center, associated with the integration and validation phases of technologies in a first prototype and the system validation. With these advances, both the company and the organizations position themselves at the forefront of technology in the naval sector and cargo handling solutions, offering innovations that optimize safety and efficiency in maritime operations.
The PERTE Naval aims to diversify the sector towards new products, digitize its processes, improve environmental sustainability, and train its employees. With a total investment of 1.460 billion euros, of which 310 million come from public funds and 1.150 billion from private investment, this project is expected to increase the sector’s competitiveness by 15% and generate 3,100 quality jobs.
