As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and process optimization, Industrias Guerra will present the results of the project ‘Integrated and digitized management of the production process oriented to the manufacturing of cranes and forestry machinery (Project Code 050_IN848D_2022)‘ on Monday, December 11th. The budget for this initiative has reached 199,500 euros, with a grant of 92,500 euros from the InnovaPeme 2022 program, subsidized by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) of the Xunta de Galicia, in an operation co-financed by the European Union.
The objective of these grants is to enhance the innovation capacity of Galician companies by financing activities integrated into innovation plans, whose activities align with the priorities of the RIS3 – Smart Specialization Strategy of Galicia.
This project has resulted in the following actions:
- Development of a PLM-ERP gateway. While PLM software uses CAD files as a reference for each component and product, ERP software comprises various modules for enterprise resource planning, including the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) module, which focuses on production management. The integration of both systems (PLM and ERP) through a digitized gateway allows the unified management of the product lifecycle, starting from its 3D design (PLM, based on CAD) to the management of processes, production, and resources (ERP), streamlining the pace and production capacity. This ensures that each section of the process has the necessary materials for the final product’s elaboration. The automatic generation of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) enables the integration of design and production management tools.
- Development of a Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) tool. Production planning and procurement management are critical processes with a direct impact on delivery times. Given the diversity of items and components necessary for manufacturing at Industrias Guerra, having tools that provide automated information for resource management helps avoid stockouts that affect both the manufacturing process (pending production orders waiting for parts, spaces occupied by ongoing productions, etc.), the incorporation of urgent production orders, etc. This not only impacts profitability but also affects the level of satisfaction with the service provided by the organization to its customers.
This project is yet another demonstration of Industrias Guerra’s commitment to innovation, in an effort to increase its production capabilities, enhance manufacturing processes, and drive its plans for international expansion.
The presentation of results will be conducted by the Technical Manager of Industrias Guerra, José Luis Mato Fernández, on Monday, December 11th, at 10:00 AM, through the following link:
