On May 23, in Vigo, Industrias Guerra presented the results of the TECNAVAL project during the technical conference organized by ASIME on the decarbonization of the naval industry. The event, which brought together companies from the sector, technology centers, and institutional representatives, served to share the main milestones of the PERTE Naval Ecosystem, a strategic initiative by the Spanish Government to modernize and decarbonize the maritime industry.

The presentation was given by José Luis Mato, Technical Director of Industrias Guerra, who outlined the details of primary project PP08, focused on the development of a high-performance robotic marine crane, designed to improve safety and efficiency in cargo operations.

This solution incorporates advances in control systems, sensors, and cloud connectivity, making the crane easier to use, improving its operability and safety, and providing better data on associated processes. These improvements result in faster operation, reduced energy consumption, less downtime, and ultimately, a lower environmental impact.

With this presentation, the design, development, validation, and technological demonstration phases of the project are officially complete. Real-environment tests have confirmed the system’s technical feasibility and industrial applicability, consolidating a solution ready for implementation.

Project PP08, developed by Industrias Guerra, is part of TECNAVAL 2025, a strategic project led by SOERMAR, involving 22 companies from 10 Spanish regions, structured into eight primary projects and funded with €7.5 million from the Naval PERTE. The initiative aims to drive the sector’s transformation through more sustainable, digital, and competitive technologies, while promoting diversification into areas such as marine energy.

With these results, Industrias Guerra reinforces its role as a key driver in the modernization of the Spanish naval sector, aligning its innovation capabilities with the ecological and digital transition goals of the maritime ecosystem.
