The Philippine Navy has incorporated two new tugboats into its fleet, the YT 027 and the AT 010. These tugboats, built by Josefa Slipways Inc. in Sual, Philippines, and designed by Robert Allan Ltd., are equipped with two marine cranes M230.20A4 from the M series of folding cranes by Guerra Marine.
These tugboats, which will operate both in ports and open waters, will assist navy ships in entering and leaving designated docking and anchoring stations. Additionally, they will be capable of performing other tasks such as rescue, firefighting in port and offshore, and assisting ships in distress.
The cranes, designed for demanding marine environments, increase the productivity of the tugboats, enhancing their versatility and efficiency. The M Series from Guerra Marine, which includes the articulated folding crane, offers great compactness without sacrificing lifting capacity and reach.
Moreover, these M series cranes from Guerra Marine are designed to withstand the toughest conditions at sea, making them ideal for rescue and recovery operations. Their compact design allows for easy handling, which is essential in emergency situations.
The YT 027 and AT 010 tugboats, with their state-of-the-art equipment, represent a significant advancement for the Philippine Navy in terms of operational capacity and efficiency. Thus, they will not only improve the safety and efficiency of port operations but also increase the ability to respond to emergencies at sea.
